Good #44

Anticipation (anticipa-a-tion).
I am not really a delayed gratification kind of a girl. But I have a date tonight for dinner and a movie that has me giggling to myself and has put a twitter in my heart. We have been so absolutely busy and crazy for the past few months - and I have been sick for the past week - that we have forgotten how to have dates. It is all just responding to the environment. So I am feeling all excited and girly about going on a date with the man I live with and love. Which is really cool.

Good #43

Kind people in new places.
So, we moved to a new place. In our new neighborhood there are new places to explore. I took the doggies to get washed and to get their nails trimmed at a dog wash down the street. They were awesome and the woman took tremendous time and care with my babies. I really appreciated how patient she was and how she made sure they were safe and were having - if not a good time- then not a bad time. She made trimming the dogs nails tolerable, which is about 1000 times better than usual. I really appreciated her time and patience. She was wonderful!

Doggie Ecstasy.
I really can't say anything that this picture doesn't say. She lays here like this in this window almost every night and every morning until she hears some noise in the street and flips over. Picture worth a thousand words. Seriously. She stayed like this for multiple pictures. Can you look at it and not see the awesomeness and doggie pleasure and that means mine too.

Good #41

My New Commute.
So I have a new job, and some new friends. On Thursdays I get to work at a new school in the district and I get to drive along about 2 miles of a brand new road. It is an untraveled road through some of the most beautiful state park I have seen in California. This morning, it was all foggy and incredibly soothing and happy. I love that I get to drive on new roads and learn a new neighborhood and new places to shop and eat and work. I love that I get to explore and do something different. The change is awesome.

Good #40

The Small World Theory.
I love opportunities to meet new people. I love doing what the Irish call "bumping roots" where you realize you have a small thing in common with someone, and then flesh it out to discover that you are long lost cousins or have strange things that link you across the world. I have done this with people all over the world and am continuously surprised and pleased to find out how often people have links all over. I am working with a family, who have origins in Tucson, and it turns out that I may have once dated the dad's best friend. Small world. Small, small world. It makes me strangely and stunningly happy.
